Fire Devastates Wood Furniture Factory in Yantai

On the evening of the 5th, a significant fire broke out at a wood furniture factory located on Fule Street in Yantai City. The blaze erupted around 8:30 PM and rapidly spread, engulfing seven nearby structures filled with furniture and wooden materials. Firefighters worked tirelessly throughout the night, battling the flames for nearly 12 hours to bring the situation under control.

Upon visiting the site the following day, it was evident that the damage was extensive. Two factory employees were seen clearing debris amidst the remnants of the fire. The windows of the seven affected rooms were left with only frames, as the roofs had collapsed under the intensity of the flames. The ground was littered with charred wood and rubble, creating a chaotic scene.

In the yard, various pieces of burnt wood lay scattered. One room in the northeast corner had its roof partially collapsed, with broken glass strewn about. Inside, furniture such as tables and chairs had suffered significant smoke damage, rendering them unrecognizable. Water covered the ground, a result of firefighting efforts. The five rooms on the eastern side, closest to the road, were reduced to mere frameworks.

The two employees, visibly shaken, were reluctant to discuss the fire's circumstances. They could only watch in dismay at the aftermath of their workplace. One young man expressed his sorrow, noting that all the factory’s contents had been destroyed and lamenting the absence of insurance.
