Spaghetti Pizza: A Creative Culinary Delight

Spaghetti Pizza is an exciting culinary innovation that combines the comforting textures of traditional spaghetti with the delicious, cheesy goodness of pizza. Ingredients

For the Pasta: - 1 (8-ounce) package of spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces

For the Cheese Mixture: - 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese, divided - ¼ cup of milk - 1 large egg, beaten - ¼ teaspoon of salt - ¼ teaspoon of garlic salt

For the Sauce and Seasonings: - 1 (16-ounce) jar of your preferred spaghetti sauce - 1 teaspoon of dried oregano - ¼ teaspoon of dried basil

For the Toppings: - 4 ounces of pepperoni, thinly sliced

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Dish Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by lightly greasing it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Cook the Spaghetti In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Add the broken spaghetti and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure it doesn’t stick. The pasta should be tender but firm (al dente). Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and rinse it under cold water to halt the cooking process and remove excess starch.

Step 3: Make the Cheese Mixture In a large mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, ¼ cup of milk, the beaten egg, ¼ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of garlic salt. Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.

Step 4: Combine Spaghetti with Cheese Mixture Add the drained spaghetti to the cheese mixture in the bowl, stirring gently until the spaghetti is evenly coated.

Step 5: Bake the Spaghetti Base Transfer the spaghetti mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to set the spaghetti base. After 15 minutes, remove the dish from the oven and reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C).

Step 6: Add Sauce, Seasonings, and Cheese Spread the spaghetti sauce evenly over the baked spaghetti base. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of dried oregano and ¼ teaspoon of dried basil for added flavor. Top with the remaining 1½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and arrange the sliced pepperoni evenly over the cheese.

Step 7: Final Baking Return the dish to the oven and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes. Bake until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, indicating that it is fully melted and delicious.

Once baked, remove the spaghetti pizza from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the dish to set, making it easier to cut and serve.
